There are thousands of animals that are unique to Australia.
Australia continues to be destroyed by raging bush fires. Climate change is real and has been amplifying the destruction of natural disasters around the world. An estimated 500 million animals have died and this number will rise because even the animals that do survive the flames have lost their habitats. Kangaroos and koalas are iconic Australian animals but there are many other lesser-known species that could go extinct due to these fires.

So what can you do to help?
- Start by sharing and spreading the word about how human-caused climate change is affecting the world.
- Do what you can to offset your carbon footprint. (a few quick ways):
- Avoid using single-use plastics
- Plant trees with your local park service
- Educate those around you
- Consider donating to the many charities working to save as many animals as they can. Including:
- The Australia Zoo’s Wildlife Hospital https://azwh.blackbaud-sites.com/
- WIRES: Wildlife Information, Rescue and Education Service Inc. wires.org.au
- Koala Hospital Port Macquarie koalahospital.org.au/shop/donation
- Kangaroo Island Wildlife Park https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-save-kangaroo-islands-koalas-and-wildlife
